Garth Johnson, TAG Oil CEO, recently confirmed Horizon Energy Services will remain their operations company for the Cheal Facility in Stratford, New Zealand. TAG Oil became 100% owners of the Cheal field and facility on purchasing a 69.5% share from joint venture partners Austral Pacific when they went into receivership earlier this year.
As reported in Energy News, oil production services company Horizon Energy Services will continue its current role as the day-to-day operations and personnel contractor for the field and facility.
TAG will be the Operator of the permit,” says Johnson. “Having said that we have started to develop a good direct working relationship with Horizon Energy, who will continue to operate the field and facility… TAG has a short and long term plan for the Cheal field and working with Horizon we will maximize safety, efficiency and production while minimising cost. Horizon has performed well over the years, during some difficult times and we look forward to those efforts continuing.
